Third edition of "Live Pterosaurs in America," front cover[The third edition of LPA was published November 2, 2011] From California to Maine, from Washington state to Florida, apparent living pterosaurs appear to be able to hide in any or all of the 48 connected states of the United States. But they sometimes fail to remain hidden, resulting in many sightings. Live Pterosaurs in America, a cryptozoology book in the true genre of cryptozoology, dives into the eyewitness sightings that have catapulted this cryptid into public view.

To quote from Chapter Two (sighting by Scott Norman):

“The animal I saw had an 8-10 foot wingspan; the wings were bat-like in shape, the inside had that wavy type of look. The body was about 5-6 feet in length, the neck about 1-2 feet in length, the head was about four feet in length, and the head was key . . . it has a crest that was about 2 feet in length, fit that of a pteranodon . . .” (Others verified Scott’s report.)

Buy the nonfiction cryptozoology book on Amazon; it should be available by about Nov 10, 2011. [update: It was published on November 2, 2011, now available on Amazon]

In 1995 I was living inPensacola Fl. I was having a yard sale, so I was in the driveway at 5am. I saw this huge bird with bat wings, at least a 20ft wing span, flying towards me, I just turned and ran screaming into the house. The shadow it threw covered the driveway. Of course my husband didnt believe me. He said it must have been a huge vulture.

I believe you, Eric. I have interviewed many eyewitnesses of living pterosaurs. Most of them are credible witnesses.

  9. i live in miami, fl. i’m fairly close to the water, so i’m not inland. i’m also in the path of many airports in my area (MIA and Opa Locka), so i know what airplane lights look like and can always hear an engine. I (along with guests on the second occasion) have seen some unexplained lights… very faint in the air. They looked to be gliding in a very easy manner. It is hard to explain. Regardless, the only explanation i’ve been given is that they’re satellites, but they were too close to the ground. We have seen a huge influx of turkey vultures over the past decade and I know i cant see them at night because they are completely black. after reading some accounts, i think what i saw was a ropen letting off its bioluminescence to maybe attract bats, vultures, owls, parrots, and other birds in the area.

Thank you, Josh, for telling us about the possibility of bioluminescent flying creatures near Miami, Florida. It is definitely a possibility, as there was a sighting of two glowing pterosaurs in the Caribbean fairly recently. Anyone else with any news (or old accounts) from Florida?
